brandonleewhite17 Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet what episode is it that they all get new clothes? reply

johncaldwell Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet If I remember right, this is the episode that made Issac Hayes quit the show. If this is what Scientologists really believe, Hayes had two choices. Quit the show in protest, which he did, or renounce Scientology as being a rediculous scam. I am sorry he let his pride guide him. We are all worse off for it. reply

Hayley B Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet It came on last night.

When Randy is talking to Tom Cruise into coming out of the closet, always cracks me up.
Tom is like 'leave me alone!' Randy: "No, we won't leave you alone until you come out of the closet." reply -
BRMBug Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet My favorite is "Moooom! Tom Cruise won't come out of the closet!!!" reply

glory Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet By far my favorite episode...and you wouldn't believe how many people in the anti-scientology movement (anonymous) refer people to this episode when people ask about the OT III levels...

You think Xenu is wierd, but it doesn't even stop there...Germany has decided that Scientology is NOT a religion, it's a political movement and a threat to their national constitution...in essances, the Germans have heard a rant like this before and they don't like it

tonedead Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet i really appreciate this episode for going at scientology. it was so overdue. other shows have done a parody of it but always have it be a cult by a different name. thank god south park has the balls to say it out loud and take on the bull by the horns.

the only problem with this episode? that the real trapped in the closet is actually funnier than the parody. the first one by the way, not the second dvd (the second one tried to be funny and just sucked). reply -

GrandTheftAutoHater Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet Personally, I didn't think this episode was all that great. It wasn't the best or the worst, but fair. 600/1000

P.S.
Is it true that if someone speaks out against Scientology and a Scientologist finds out, do they kill the one who spoke out with no risk of criminal prosecution? reply -
Zzz_ Re: Jonh + Jane Smith??? Did anyone else notice the "John Smith" and "Jane Smith" on the credits? I thought that was weird.

Yes I did and Ihave also been wondering about that. Maybe it's some wink at a special couple that might either be into scientology to make them pissed
Some other suggestions? reply -
superiorsavior Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet Wikipedia didn't forget the jhon smith and jane smith part... they say it's because they're common names, because they don't want scientology knowing their name so then no one could sue them :p reply

caspianrex Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet I think this is one of the all-time great SP episodes.

Despite a couple little inaccuracies about Scientology, it makes some really great jokes at the Co$'s expense, as well as making some great points about why people join cults in the first place.
The John/Jane Smith seems to have confused people a little, but I think the point of the joke is quite obvious. The very last thing Stan says, clearly speaking for the show's creators is, "Go ahead, sue me!" The John/Jane Smith substituted for everyone's names is then a little nod to the notorious reputation the Co$ has for doing just that. Get it?
Well done, Matt, Trey, and everyone! reply -
buddylee1979 Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet this has got to be one of the best episodes ever. i love when south park takes on some ridiculus crap that deserves it and scientology definately deserves it. you'd have to be on every drug in the world to believe that stuff. DIE WENDY TESTIBURGER!! reply

caspianrex Re: *912* Trapped in the Closet OK, I'm probably one of the last people in the world to watch the R. Kelly video series of "Trapped in the Closet," but I was just watching it tonight. Now I finally get how funny this South Park episode's treatment of R. Kelly is. I have to say, the R. Kelly videos are almost as funny as this SP episode.

Now, I have to tell you I HATE R. Kelly: I helped him once at a store I worked at in Chicago, when he was first hitting it big, and he was an utter asshole. But "Trapped in the Closet" (the video series) is really fucking funny, in its own ridiculous way. I still think he's a dickhead, but hey, funny is funny... reply -
