Question:

Who does the voice for Morgan Freeman?

Answer

That would be Trey. When he talks about boob poop, I just melt.

Question:

Hey dudes, after further review I noticed on the episode "Fatbeard" that the real pirates and the one french dude weren't Matt or Trey's voice. Am I wrong? And if not, who did those voices?

Answer

You are actually 100% right. That episode was a rarity in the voice acting world for us. We actually brought in some French speaking actors to do those lines. Same goes with those Somalian Pirates -- that wasn't Matt and Trey either. Those voice actors were Abdi Fatah Adawe, Dahir Ali, Abdullahi Prime, Sebastian Yu, and Julien Zeitouni.

Question:

In the "200" episode, who is the celeb wearing a purple dress and has short hair?

Answer

I believe you're talking about her, in the purple dress all the way on the right (around the 45 second mark)? That's Winona Ryder, and she's actually from the South Park Movie: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.

And I thought I should post this, it might help those of you trying to sort out all the celebrities in "200". Here's rough list of some of the celebs, it's possible a few are missing, so don't bust my balls if you spot someone not on this list: Tom Cruise, Bono, Paris Hilton, Tiger Woods, Sally Struthers, Mr. Mouse, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Jared Fogel (from Subway), Brooke Shields, David Blaine, Kathie Lee Gifford, Ben Affleck, Sylvester Stallone, Phil Collins, Pope Benedict, Francis Ford Coppola, Martha Stewart, M. Night Shyamalan, Bill Cosby, Billy Bob Thorton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michael Jackson, OJ Simpson, Will Smith, Jimmy Buffet, Hilary Clinton, Oprah, Brian Dennehey, Robert Redford, Eric Stotlz, Liza Minelli, Gary Condit, Fred Savage, Russell Crowe, Winona Ryder, Bob Saget, Harrison Ford, Johnnie Cochran, Rosie O'Donnell, Mel Gibson, Barry Bonds, Michael Richards, John Travolta, Angelina Jolie, David Duchovny, Steve Irwin, Jesse Jackson, John Edward, David Letterman, Michael Douglas, Tim Burton, Michael Bay, Al Gore, Osama bin Laden, Tina Yothers, and of course, Ms. Lopez.

Question:

What is the episode called that shows Terrance and Phillip getting married to Canadian girls at the end?

Answer

That joyful union between farts and queefs took place at the very end of Season 13's stinker "Eat, Pray, Queef" (1304). Watch it here and let your soul take flight...

Question:

FAQ guy, do you know if this website going to be switching to HTML5 or something anytime soon? That was dumb that the South Park app got rejected from the iPhone app store but they are not restricting the web (yet).

Answer

You got an iPad?? Is it winged or made of Cherokee hair? As of right now, we don't have any super-pressing plans to switch to HTML5. We've obviously talked about it and are aware that it would be sweet, but there's a ton of technical and web-security issues that need to be resolved first, and we are still busy with this current season. And yes, our iPhone app being rejected three times was totally mega-lame.

Question:

April 19, 2010 - Mr. FAQ, South Park is the greatest show ever thou

Mr. FAQ, South Park is the greatest show ever thought of. Matt and Trey are absolutely brilliant. I'm sure this question has been asked before but: How are you so knowledgeable about South Park?

Answer

Short answer: I watch a lot -- and I mean a lot -- of South Park. Like maybe a million Courics worth a week. Less-short answer: I work at SPS and am kept in a small dark room with toilet paper, cheesy poofs, and every South Park DVD ever made. Every few days I am taken for a walk, and then subsequently given your FAQs to answer. If I'm a good boy, they'll give me Snacky S'mores. I've been living like this for the last two years, and while I've lost touch with the outside world, I have become an absolute expert on everything South Park. You're welcome.

Question:

April 19, 2010 - I noticed during the 200th episode that at the end

I noticed during the 200th episode that at the end, Mitch Conner and Cartman were talking to Mr. Garrison. Then the scene cut to the town of South Park looking at the gingers and Mr. Garrison was in the background. Later, after watching the episode again on South Park Studios, Mr. Garrison was edited out of that scene. Is it really that important to edit the main copy of the episode after it aired?

Answer

You noticed that, huh? Well, good catch. And yes, it was worth editing out. The show gets made so quickly that sometimes a mistake like that slips trough the cracks.

If you're a South Park fan, you know we don't always catch these mistakes. But if we notice it within a few hours after the episode airs, we try to fix it. And this time, that Garrison scene gets fixed. See...you just learned something today.

Question:

April 19, 2010 - My friend will not stop insisting that South Park

My friend will not stop insisting that South Park characters are round 3D characters and the rendering is what makes them look like contruction paper. The real question comes down to this: When a character turns their head, do you just turn the model's head in 3D space or do you have to call up a different cutout of their head from the side, like with real construction paper animation?

Answer

Sure hope you have money riding on this, because you're friend is soooooo wrong. The characters are not rounded 3D models at all, but flat, planes of 'digital' construction paper... read on if you want to hear the long winded explanation.

The first "South Park Style" short was a film Trey and Matt made, called "The Spirit of Christmas." It was made entirely of hand-cut construction paper and filmed under an animation camera stand by moving the construction paper every two frames to create the motion. For the last 14 years, we have worked very hard to mimic that style. The program we use now to animate the show is called Maya, which is super-powerful, industrial-strength 3D animation software. We just don't usually use any of it's amazing capabilities to animate the main characters. South Park is created using a technique called "replacement animation." For example, all the boys heads are flat pieces of 'digital' construction paper, we just swap out a front-facing head for a for a side-facing head when needed. Normally, the characters have 4 views: front, back, left and right. We mix these elements (heads, bodies, arms, feet, etc.) to make it look more complex than it really is.

Basically, we are creating a 2D world in 3D software. But, sometimes we go big, and use Maya for what it was originally intended and create something awesome like Mecha-Striesand 2010 (who is a fully rigged, traditional 3D model with IK and other bells and whistles) or a cheesed-out Kenny ride. It also gives the talented artists here at the show a chance to spread their wings when they can build something over-the-top and blend it into the South Park world.

Hi Mr. FAQ, Awesome season so far. Is the show "200" based on a real life situation? Are there any pissed-off celebrities?

Answer

There may be plenty of pissed off celebrities, but no, this "class-action lawsuit" premise is not based on any real life situation. Just a great way to get a lot of people back in the mix.

Question:

April 19, 2010 - Hey guys! Huge fan with awesome rockin' tits here.

Hey guys! Huge fan with awesome rockin' tits here. My question for you is: Who does the voice of Jesus? He's definitely one of the best characters on the show.

Answer

Jesus' voice is done by Matt Stone. And by the way, congrats on the boobage.

How come you guys never anwser or post my question?

Answer

Because when we finally get a chance to read your question, you waste it on something like this. Bummer.

Question:

April 12, 2010 - I noticed on Stan's Facebook profile in "You Have

I noticed on Stan's Facebook profile in "You Have 0 Friends" that his birthday is October 19, which is also Trey's birthday...is it a coincidence that Stan Marsh and Trey Parker have the same birthday, or did you plan it that way?

Answer

Nice catch. And yeah, that's more than a coincidence. Certainly someone with your SP knowledge knows that Stan's character is loosely based off of Trey (and Kyle's off of Matt).

Question:

April 12, 2010 - Oh Mr. FAQ, I have a question that despirately nee

Oh Mr. FAQ, I have a question that despirately needs to be answered. If we have a good show idea, how do we get it to Matt and Trey? I have a show idea involving the Board of Education being forced to change the "South Park Cows" to something else after some "Cows" find it offensive. This actually is a parody of what is happening right now at the University of North Dakota with their "Fighting Sioux" nickname... the board essentially deciding to retire the name after a few Sioux found it offensive, and not considering the opinions of a vast majority (maybe in the episode it could be the parents, where the kids don't really care?).

Answer

Well, two things. First, I hate to burst your bubble, but we don't take show ideas or suggestions from fans. (You have no idea how many people think they have the perfect idea for an episode, character, plot, joke, etc...) Thankfully for us all, Matt and Trey have this whole "show creation" thing under control -- and if you take a look back at the past 200 episodes, I think they're doing a pretty solid job.

And second. They already made that show your suggesting. It's called "Douche and Turd" (808), it's from Season 8, and you can watch it right here.

Question:

April 12, 2010 - Who do u think would win in a fight, ManBearPig or

Who do u think would win in a fight, ManBearPig or ScuzzleButt?

Answer

Well, it'd be a close call. I think ManBearPig would take it, because he's a half man, half bear, and half pig -- which means he's 150% manimal. But Scuzzlebutt's Patrick Duffy leg is the wild card. If he starts quoting Step By Step, he could easily bore ManBearPig to death.

Question:

i just saw the black version of Cartman on the episode "The Losing Edge" when the SP team is going up against the Fort Collins team!

Answer

You mean this guy? You might be onto something...the Fort Collins players do look like a pretty even match for the South Park kids.

Question:

April 11, 2010 - How come some of the videos are still censored and

How come some of the videos are still censored and some aren't? I thought it was a release timing thing, but some of the older episodes are censored. I was just wondering what causes this and do all episodes eventually come to be uncensored?

Answer

Good question. A lot of the older episodes are censored because that's the audio that was attached to the Master copy of their video. And when we made clips for this website, we just cut them from those masters. As for the new episodes, they are only censored for the first 24 hours, because that's how the network airs the show. A few days after the episode premieres, we get the final audio mixes (uncensored) and we swap it out on the website.

Question:

In the episode "Sexual Healing," the guy who is talking to all the sex addicts (who is also writing all those things on the board), is he the Mayor of Imaginationland or does he just look like him???

Answer

He just looks like him, although I'll admit, the resemblance is uncanny. The Mayor of Imaginationland is a lot fatter, has a way sweeter mustache and a top hat.

Question:

WHY is the Obama episode not available... I have a house full of people ready to laugh their asses off at Randy telling his boss off, and the ball has been dropped?!?! :) love u guys but... epic fail.... :(

Answer

If you live in England, Canada, or one of the Scandinavian countries, we re very sorry to tell you that the rules for showing full episodes on the website are out of our hands. Lame, but true. If you asked this question and you live in the United States, Read on...

Epic fail? Frowny face? Dude, the episode IS available and it always has been. It's called "About Last Night" (1212) and it's right here (there's even a picture of Obama in the Episode Guide). Remind me to never go to a party at your house.

Question:

I asked my science teacher if you could put food up your butt and poop out your mouth and she said NO. What do you think about this? (P.S. I think shes lying.)

Answer

I guess she's never heard of "Intero-Rectogestion." In fact, the Surgeon General classified this up-the-butt method of consumption as a much healthier way to eat. Even though he based this statement on absolutely nothing, I still think he's onto something.

Question:

April 02, 2010 - Hey guys, I was wondering if the new episode had a

Hey guys, I was wondering if the new episode had any direct references to any mobster movies? Like that entire part with Cartman and the KFC seemed familiar.

Answer

Yep, there are several movie references in "Medicinal Fried Chicken." The most notable one is Cartman's story, which is a nice big parody of Scarface. There's also a little bit of 1991's "New Jack City" in there.

Question:

April 02, 2010 - Hello you guys! First, I LOVE your show!!! You guy

Hello you guys! First, I LOVE your show!!! You guys are great and make a great show! Second - the question many people are asking - could you please tell us what the tune is when all the guys are hopping on their balls (on their way from the Marijuana store) in "Medicinal Fried Chicken"? We're really hooked on that tune now!

Answer

Best nutsack hopping tune ever?? We think so. It's a song called "Chicken on the Rocks" by Jean Jacques Perrey. It was also used in the old-school "Bing Bang Boing" commercials from the 70s, which makes this whole thing even funnier.

Question:

April 02, 2010 - So, is weiner poop REALLY the worst, grossest kind

So, is weiner poop REALLY the worst, grossest kind of poop? Cause I want to see some fact checking on this.

Answer

Well it's definitely worse than butt poop and boob poop, so you do the math.

Question:

April 01, 2010 - I have 2 questions: 1) Who plays the voice of shar

I have 2 questions: 1) Who plays the voice of sharon, and 2) Why is she the most down-to-earth person on the show?

Answer

April Stewart currently does the voice of Sharon. And I think Sharon's down-to-earthiness is the coping mechanism she uses to to deal with all the craziness of South Park.

Question:

April 01, 2010 - Are you going to be putting up any new wallpapers

Are you going to be putting up any new wallpapers soon? I like to put each episode's wallpaper on my computer as they are released.

Answer

And that's why we love you. Yes, new wallpaper is coming out today!

Question:

April 01, 2010 - Hey, thanks for reading my question. How do you al

Hey, thanks for reading my question. How do you all do the voice for Kenny? I understand that for everyone else, you spend hours creating the perfect voice for a character, but how did you make Kenny sound so muffled?

Answer

This has been answered before, but it's a popular question so here you go: To get Kenny's signature sound, Matt puts a tissue in his hand and speaks into it while recording. As we mentioned recently in FAQs, Kenny usually has written lines of dialogue (especially in the new episodes), so Matt's actually reading real lines. So If you listen REALLY hard, you might be able to make out most of what Kenny says.

Question:

April 01, 2010 - In which episode does Kyle's friend get raped and

In which episode does Kyle's friend get raped and who is it?

Answer

That episode was a doozy...it happened in "The China Probrem" (1208) and we all know his poor friend.

Question:

April 01, 2010 - What if a girl cheesed? Would Boobland, Major Boob

What if a girl cheesed? Would Boobland, Major Boobage, and the Breastiary stay the same?

Answer

I'm pretty sure you'd see huge balls instead -- something like this. Luckily, both objects have a similar shape, so while cheesing, the Scrotuary and the Locknar Trophy would look very similar.
