Typically, we make an episode start-to-finish in about 6 days total, with the episode airing the same day it's finished. You can see the amazingly well-oiled process here in "Six Days to South Park".

Everyone on the show worked crazy hours and lost quite a bit of sleep to make "About Last Night..." an amazing episode.

It was from the Season 3 episode "Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics" (315), where Santa and Jesus duet. There's a little "Duran Duran" in there too.
