Yeah, we know you've been itching for some behind the scenes photos, videos, and interviews. We will not disappoint in the future, but we will disappoint now. Matt was planning on writing a short manifesto for the site, but he's been working super hard on "That's My Bush," so you'll have to wait a couple more days. In fact, the episode we're filming this week is co-written by him, so he's even busier than usual. Keep checking back for new stuff - maybe even some never before seen outtakes and animatics.

No behind-the-scenes stories about "Chef Aid," that was a couple of months before my time. Maybe Breayle can ask some of the O.G. South Park employees for some good stories (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more).

Anyways, we hope to have some interesting tidbits about the upcoming repeat episodes - inspirations for characters, how the story came about, etc...

The "Chef Aid" album was recorded at The Village Studios in West Los Angeles.

In addition, The Village is where we get Isaac Hayes' lines ISDN'd from New York where he lives. Matt gives Isaac (who will be at a recording studio) direction over the phone. Step two... Then everything gets laid out on DAT and gets sent back to our audio producer Bruce at the Studios.

I just wanted to let all of you know that I'm getting tons of great questions in the FAQ's section so keep em coming!

Another cool thing I'd like to tell you all is that yesterday we broke 1,000 users! Whoo Hoo! That's awesome. Today I checked on it again and we we're already up to 1,360 users so YAY for us!! Keep coming in guys and keep emailing we want to make this place better for you!

If you didn't already know, Butters was featured in "Entertainment Weekly's" "One's To Watch" a couple years back.

I am writing to you as a Muslim fan of South Park. What I'm saying is my own personal viewpoint and not necessarily those of the people who work for the South Park show.

Having said that, I must say that I think you are misguided in your anger at the song "Merry F--- Christmas." If you have watched the show (or even heard just that one song) then you know that the show pokes fun at everything. Muslims are not being singled out. And to be honest, I don't even think the song is making fun of Muslims... I think it's making fun of people narrow-minded people, like the singer of the song. The whole reason that song is funny (and it is) is due to the fact that the watched simply cannot believe how pig-headed and obnoxious the singer is.

The show has never preached hatred toward Muslims or anyone. I feel that though you have a prerogative to be offended at this show, your anger is unfounded. There are so many things in this world that really so need attention brought to them. For example, there are white supremist groups which are spreading misinformation and hatred toward Muslims, Blacks, Jews, and many other people. They are the ones doing real damage in society. South Park, despite the bad language and often offensive material, actually has good basic morals in it and does not deserve your anger.

The purpose of the show is not to be malicious. However, even if it were, there is such a thing as free speech. I am not sure that you can sue a show for saying something you don't like. As for revealing the song to the Islamic Community... many of us already know the song and find it quite funny!

Matt and Trey were going to be on the show, but instead of showing their own swank homes, they were going to rent an empty house and decorate it as if Sigfried and Roy lived there - complete with white tigers and super...er, alternative lifetyle furnishings. The Cherokee in the "Cherokee Hair Tampons" commercial was played by one of our audio editors, Lydia Quidilla. And yep, that's Cheech and Chong voicing the faux Native Americans. Tommy Chong visited our studios to record his lines. He looked like a suburban dad, man, but very cool. Cheech Marin recorded his lines in San Francisco. Props to Cheech for putting up with Don Johnson for that long. Don Johnson hit on my friend's younger sister when she was like, 19 years old. Dude, Sick!

Heya folks,

While going through some of the leftover Beef-Cake news I've got in my box, I've encountered a reminder from Mr. Catpoo.

Next Wednesday (April 25th, 8pm, Comedy Central) the American Comedy Awards are airing. South Park has been nominated in the category "Funniest Animated Television Series".

It' is pitted up against the likes of "King of the Hill" and "The Simpsons". Or as I like to call them, "Bad" and "Worse".

So mark your calendars and tune in and root for the boys!

Every employee here at South Park Studios gets a cool little name tag for their cubicles. Along with their first name, it includes a character. A couple people had themselves turned into South Park characters, most are assigned existing characters - sometimes with embellishments like Cartman with a snowboard, or Cartman mooning. It's up to the storyboard artists (usually Tony Postma) who put them together, but they're relatively open to requests. I'm Kyle, dressed up like Boba Fett for Halloween. This corel was never used on the show. Pretty cool, huh?

Here's a short interview I conducted with Matt Stone (otherwise known as "Slippery Eel"!)

Matt: No, no, no. Just type it.

Butters: Wait. Tell us how you guys came up with the idea for "Cherokee Hair Tampons."

Matt: Oh crap. I don't remember. All I remember is being psyched that Cheech and Chong were back together, finally.

Butters: And?

Matt: Uh.... And what do you think Kimmel (Jon, former South Park post production coordinator, current "That's My Bush" writer, and brother of semi-famous TV personality Jimmy Kimmel)

Jon: (in his best TRL fan voice) I thought it was cool that you, uh...., put Cheech and Chong on the show. Uh... And I liked watching it.

Matt: See, there you go. Testimony from a true fan (on the payroll)

Butters: So why did you decide to put in a live action commercial?

Matt: Uh. I can't remember. You know they should put in there that Lydia (Quidilla, Audio Editor) was actually the Cherokee...

Butters: Yeah, we already did that (in Behind the Scenes).

Matt: Oh. Nah. I don't remember the live action commercial.

Butters: God! Lame! LAME!!

Matt "Slippery Eel" Stone laughs and walks off to a writers' meeting.

One thing Matt wants you guys to know is that he wants to put the full length versions of some of the South Park songs onto the site. Sometimes we only get to use short clips (like 10 seconds or less) of songs that are often a minute long, or even longer. Hopefully we'll get those up soon in the Downloads section. Until then, be on the look out for more lame interviews with Matt and Trey. I'll go bother Trey now.

Whenever you see any South Park artwork in magazines, calendars, cds, posters, etc... Chances are they were put together by Erick Thorpe, our licensing artist. Not only does he tweek screen shots for promos (including some of the images on this site), Erick often builds images from scratch (such as the "4th Grade" campaign, and the "Bigger, Longer, and Uncut" poster). Check out the end credits for BLU and you'll find Erick's name under "Special Thanks."

Butters: What about the rumors that Eminem was going to guest star on a future episode of South Park?

Matt: (to Trey) That would be pretty cool, huh?

Butters: So where the hell did they get this idea?

Matt: It's a rumor that started in England, I think. Someone even called me up to ask about it.

Butters: Yeah, a guy from Comedy Central called to see if there was any artwork done.

Matt: Really?

Trey: We're not at liberty to say at this moment.

Matt: Yeah. I'll go over it with him when I see him later tonight.

Well there you have it folks, another unsubstantiated rumor yet to be discredited. We'll be back shortly with even more subterfuge.

Hey guys!

Sad news! The Simpsons beat South Park on the American Comedy Awards that aired last night on Comedy Central. They were up against King of The Hill and The Simpsons. Pretty damn stiff competition if you ask me! A big fat huge congrats to Matt Stone and Trey Parker just for getting nominated! Check out the American Comedy Awards Page

New episodes of South Park will be aired on June 20th 2001 so keep your eyes and ears open for new shows on Comedy Central. Who knows what those guys will think of next, I'm sure they're going to keep us on our toes for the fifth season.
