Deal Includes 42 New Episodes Of "South Park"


Comedy Central and "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have renewed their contract in a deal that will keep the creative duo at the cable channel through the end of 2008, it was announced today by Doug Herzog, president, Comedy Central.

The deal consists of three more years of "South Park" episodes with 14 new episodes each year. Parker and Stone will continue under the new agreement to write, direct and edit every episode of "South Park" as they have since the creation of the show. New episodes of "South Park" will begin on October 19 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Work Begins on the next half season
Meanwhile, at the headquarters of the Super Best Friends... The writers have returned to work for pre-season meetings. Deep in a secret room, they're discussing ideas for the next set of episodes, which are currently scheduled to start airing on the evening of October 19th (though it's possible this could change).

What sorts of stories will you be getting? I'm sure they'll drop some hints soon...

Comedy Central's "South Park" Wins Primetime Emmy At Last

Perennial Animated Favorite "South Park" Wins After Five Nominations

Comedy Central's long-running animated hit "South Park," brought home the gold last evening, winning its first Emmy Award after five nominations, in the 2004-2005 Primetime Emmy Awards competition. The honors were given out yesterday by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS). The program, an adult-oriented animation phenomenon, is set in the town of South Park, nestled in the Colorado Rockies and home to grade-schoolers Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Cartman. It won the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program (less than an hour).
